Professor Luciano Saso is a Full Professor of Pharmacology at the Faculty of Pharmacy and Medicine, Sapienza University of Rome, Italy. He holds a Doctorate in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the same institution, awarded in 1992. With over 400 scientific articles published in peer-reviewed international journals, his research primarily focuses on the pharmacological modulation of oxidative stress, redox regulation, and the Nrf2 signaling pathway .
Beyond his academic contributions, Professor Saso has been actively involved in international academic networks. He served as the President of UNICA (Network of Universities from the Capitals of Europe) from 2015 to 2023 and is currently the Secretary General of the network . Additionally, he is a member of the Executive Committee of the M8 Alliance of Academic Health Centers, Universities, and National Academies, and has coordinated the M8 Alliance webinar series on Migrant and Refugee Health.
