The Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) has awarded the University of Jordan (UJ) School of Pharmacy full certification status. ACPE certification means that the B.S. in Pharmacy and Pharm.D. programs offered by the School are designed and implemented in accordance with international standards. The school is the first to obtain this certification in Jordan and one of the first outside of the US, according to School of Pharmacy Dean, Dr. Rula Darwesh. Early this year, a delegation from ACPE made a 3-day site visit to UJ to inspect the School and its affiliated facilities. The purpose of the visit was to inspect the School’s compliance with the ACPE standards which includes admission, curriculum, facilities and equipment, management and others. UJSoP was found in compliance with ACPE standards. “Faculty, staff, and students at the school has made enormous efforts to achieve this objective,” said Darwesh. “stakeholders and partners inside and outside UJ were very supportive,” she added. This great achievement would not have been accomplished without the great support of the higher administration at the UJ. ACPE is a US-based agency for the accreditation of professional degree programs in pharmacy.
