The School of Pharmacy 2021 Conference Kicks-off

​The activities of the University of Jordan (UJ) School of Pharmacy Conference 2021 kicked off Wednesday under the title: "Recent Updates in Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences", with wide participation of scientists, academics and experts from the pharmaceutical industry from Jordan and abroad.

 

UJ president Prof. Abdel Karim Al-Qudah, in his remarks at the opening ceremony, stressed the important role played by pharmaceutical sciences along with other medical disciplines in maintaining global public health and combating pandemics.

 

In turn, president of the conference and the Dean of the School, Prof. Rana Abu Al-Dhahab, said the conference aims to update pharmacists about the latest developments in various pharmaceutical fields and provide a chance for academics and their counterparts in the pharmaceutical industry and clinical pharmacy to exchange knowledge and expertise.

 

For her part, president of the conference's executive and scientific committee, Prof. Areej Assaf, said Covid-19 pandemic reminded us of the need to pay more attention to science and health, highlighting the role of the pharmaceutical sector and its personnel in combating this epidemic.

 

The opening session included a keynote by the Director of Al-Hayat Pharmaceutical Industries, Dr. Maher Al-Kurdi, on challenges facing the pharmaceutical industries in Jordan and the impact of the Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic on the sector.

 

Over the course of 4 sessions and with the attendance of nearly1000 participants, the two-day conference is covering a spectrum of topics in pharmaceutics; pharmacology and therapeutics; pharmaceutical sciences; and clinical pharmacy practice, education and administration.
